In Funes Valley: Odle + Putia Mountains

filled by Giulia

At the northwestern border of the Dolomites is the Odle group, distinct in Eores and Funes Odle.
A sheltered but fascinating group, remained on the margins of the tourism area and therefore able to preserve and provide images and ideas in other places now lost...
The Odle di Funes are among the most beautiful mountains in the Dolomites, an impressive sequence of vertical walls, and pinnacles structured, consisting of banks of Schlern Dolomite, very clear and very layered rock. A real boundary wall to the northeast of the dolomite.
Coming down from the Mount of Funes to San. Pietro, the main town of the valley, appear on the left here is the chain of serrated Odle di Funes.. But to enjoy this view you must go to San Pietro and from there take the road that leads to Santa Maddalena, and from there go to the circus end of the valley, which ends in Kreuzkofeljoch. By car you can reach up to Zanseralm, at 1670 meters above sea level, where all routes start by walk through the Puez-Odle Group.
The Alm Zannes is the best access point for hikers who want to reach Odle Group, both of which Eores and Funes, and sass Putia, which is part of Odle Group and well worth a trip to the beautiful landscapes that can be enjoyed from its peak of the Dolomites to the south and north and northwest of the central Alps.
