Pomaria and ancient tastes: Val di Non celebration of apples and traditional cuisine

Each year the second weekend of October, the Non Valley celebrates its apples with Pomaria, a big party full of events.
You can pick apples from the tree directly with the farmers, you can learn how to make strudel and take it home, to elect the "most good of the Realm" or participate in many other funny moments and delicious designed for all ages inside the 'ancient village of Casez.
The downtown streets of the village are animated representations of ancient crafts, music, markets and pomological exhibition.
Casez open the doors of its castle and its patrician houses to visitors, to celebrate the return to its roots and rediscover the ancient bond with nature.
To accommodate the tourists, restaurateurs and hoteliers will offer themed menu and special holiday packages, also in the valley of Val di Sole opportunity to discover these valleys with tasting of typical products and long walks, even in the mild autumn climate. At the same time, and for two consecutive weeks, always in Val di Non are celebrated historic flavors, the dishes of the traditional Nonesa. Ten of the best restaurants participating in the local area.
Alongside the more daring recipes (do not miss "le pere del secondo fieno cotte nel vin groppello” or “lo sgonfiotto di pane e formaggio di malga al miele di mugo”) never miss the highlights of the tradition: the inevitable and dumplings dumplings with buckwheat, roast potatoes, peasant soup with vegetables, the Mortandèla. Among the desserts, of course, the apple, offered in various combinations ever: baked with cranberries, caramelized with berries, in the simple but good grandmother's cake, or even in the form of sorbet and jam.
The price is very reasonable, a full menu from appetizers to dessert and coffee, and a different wine with each course (all of the best selections DOC Trentino DOC Nosiola, Teroldego Rotaliano DOC ...) just 35.00 euros.
