In Chiavenna in a "crotto"

Chiavenna, Sondrio, rose on a large landslide, which detached from the south in very remote times. The boulders on the slope gave origin to Crotti. The Val Ferret begins just beyond the village of Entrèves (m 1306) and cuts at the foot of Rochefort Ridges, Grandes Jorasses, the Triolet and Mont Dolent, whose watershed mark the border with France, ending in the North East the Col Ferret (m 2543) that marks the border with Switzerland.
