Capital of South Tyrol, Bolzano fascinated by its double identity, Italian and German.
The city tour can start from Piazza Walther, Bolzano's living room, the place to meet and have a chat, take some sun, a drink in one of the many pubs that animate the square. In the summer the square is also animated by the sound of the many bands that perform here. Across the road stands the cathedral, beside the seventeenth-century bell tower, which rings every quarter of an hour to record the passage of time.
On the left of the square is the Rosengarten show, the Rose Garden, the majestic Group of the Catenaccio
At the back of Piazza Walther stretches medieval Via dei Portici. On both sides of the street you can admire the beautiful facades of the houses with the typical protruding Erker.
In Piazza delle Erbe, where is found the Fountain of Neptune, the market attracts many people every morning with stalls of fresh fruit.
